What God said to me

Be prepared to be ridiculed (or worse) for what is right. Stand firm on what I have taught you. Stand.

What I said to God

The closer I am to a person, the more difficult it seems to be to take a stand on controversial issues (particularly if that person seems to believe differently than I). It is not that I am ashamed of You or that I waiver in what I believe. Indeed, it is because of my belief that I have this struggle. You have taught me the importance of building relationships. Therefore, my struggle is in expressing what I so passionately believe without destroying relationships that I cherish (and perhaps causing others to turn away from You). Give me wisdom to speak what needs to be said at the appropriate time and in the appropriate manner.
