Scripture | Luke 2:8-20,33-35 (BSFL*) | Translation | NIV |
What God said to me | Many things have been said about Me. How will you deal with what you hear? How will you distinguish between what is true and what is false? What will you say about Me? |
What I said to God | It all comes down to whether I believe all scripture to be inspired by You and useful as a instrument for measuring truth. I do believe both of these things. Therefore, I know that whatever I hear can be measured against what has already been said of You through Your own inspired words. Agreement equals truth and disagreement equals falsehood. Likewise, the words I speak of You should always be founded on what You have declared of Yourself. |
