Scripture | Ephesians 4:4-7,14-16,25-32 (BSFL*) | Translation | NIV |
What God said to me | You do have a place in the church. You have always had a place and a purpose. I know there are positions for which you are not equipped. Do not fill those positions. Instead, look for opportunities to serve in areas for which you are equipped. You do not need to feel obligated to take on a task just because no one else is doing it. When each person does his/her part (not someone else’s) the entire church will grow closer to Me. And all that you do, do in love. Do not allow the words or actions of others to sway you in your service. Put away your anger and bitterness. Forgive and love. |
What I said to God | Interesting commentary. I appreciate that You have a place for me to serve. I appreciate that You have equipped me to serve in that place. I know that I have complicated things for angry, but I have recognized the bitterness. I feel that several years of my life have been wasted. I cannot get them back. I cannot make up for them. They are gone. I am currently doing one of those “no one else will do it” tasks. I figured that as far as the Church is concerned, walking on hands was better than not walking at all. It is pretty amazing that most functions do have a backup that will work. I guess walking on lips is not such a great idea, though. |
