Scripture | Romans 8:28-30 (BSFL*) | Translation | NIV |
What God said to me | I see that you are struggling with making a decision right now. I know that you wantto make correct choices. I want that for you, too. I want everything to work out for your good. I have a perfect plan for your life. Let’s talk about it. |
What I said to God | I have known that You have a perfect plan for my life, but I have not known how to know what that plan is. I have difficulty distinguishing between an okay plan and the perfect plan. It seems there are multiple options that can be justified by scripture. How do I find the perfect plan? For instance, I currently have a great job working for a wonderful institution. However, I would never have imagined that this is where I would be or what I would be doing at this time in my life. When I think of the things I used to do and the interests I used to have it seems that I am thinking of someone else’s life. The decisions that I made to get me here have been scripturally based and prayerfully considered. At every crossroad there has been an equally scripturally based and prayerfully considered option. I have not had clear, undeniable confirmation of one choice over another. How do I get that? In all of life, in every decision, how do I distinguish Your perfect plan from my okay plan? Help me find Your perfect plan in the decision I am facing now. |
